About the Market

We are a community-based Farmers' Market venue for local producers to sell directly to their customers. The market is operated by the Bridgewater Farmers' Market Association, a non-profit society. Every Saturday, from June through October, our vendors gather along the side of the former Bridgewater Memorial Arena (between the former Seniors' Complex and the Senior's Park) at 123 Empire Street (corner of Empire & Churchill St.) in Bridgewater, NS, on Nova Scotia's beautiful South Shore.

The Town of Bridgewater has been sponsering our port-a-potty for the past several seasons,  contributed funds for permanent improvements to the market, and supported our Food Truck Party.

Thanks to a grant from the  Resource Recovery Fund Board (RRFB), we have been able to buy two sorting stations to help our customers and vendors to properly dispose of their waste.

More About the Market

We look forward to talking to our loyal shoppers every week and hope to welcome new customers.

This outside market stays open rain or shine. We promise ever-expanding displays of farm-fresh produce; a variety of tasty food products from local growers and producers. For the discerning shopper, we have most of the staples to satisfy your needs, including locally grown pork, lamb, beef, poultry and seafood. Talk to local growers/producers. We take great pride in the quality and variety of our seasonal products that are the foundation for delicious and healthy choices! This is certainly reason enough to buy "locally."

Picked at their Prime

Picked at their prime, and grown or produced close to home - check out our vegetables, seasonal fruits, bread and baked goods, condiments, plants & flowers, fresh honey, meat, fish, free-range eggs, and more. The Bridgewater Farmers' Market is a vital part of the Community. Our vendors bring a varied selection of products they grow, pick, make or bake themselves to sell to you - our guarantee of quality, freshness and sustainable farming and production practices.

Centrally located on King Street, the Market is easily accessible. You can't miss our brightly coloured tents and displays. Park alongside the Market or across the street. Bring a friend. Grab a coffee and stay a while and even enjoy live music from local musicians, when the weather permits.

Get to know the vendors who are only too happy to talk about their products and to help you meet your weekly shopping needs.

Let us show you the benefits of knowing where your food comes from and how it has been grown. We provide great choices and accessibility to young and old; we are responsive to our shoppers' needs. Support local agriculture.

Add the Saturday Bridgewater Farmers' Market to your calendar. Weekly shopping at the Bridgewater Farmers' Market will be a whole lot of fun for the entire family.

Our Christmas Markets

In December 2015 we started with two Sunday markets in December. Since then our Christmas Markets have increased to five Sundays and our vendor numbers have doubled.
