Seeking Volunteers - Economic Impact Study

We are seeking four volunteers who will be able to work a two-hour shift, helping to collect data as a part of our 2017 Economic Impact Study on July 22. The shift times are 9 - 11 am and 11 am – 1 pm.

Our market participated in the original province-wide Economic Impact Study that Farmers’ Markets of Nova Scotia conducted in 2013. We repeated the study in 2015 and would like to continue the research in 2017. The data collected provides an estimate of how much customers spend at the market and in surrounding businesses. Combined with our weekly customer counts during the summer season we estimate the economic impact and importance of our market to the local economy. It will also help us decide where to spend our adverting dollars.

Customers will be asked to answer five questions that are presented on white boards. Most of the questions will be answered by simply placing a dot in the appropriate category/column. It is the duty of the volunteers to engage the customers, hand out the dots, and help them understand the questions if necessary.
